This, however, is the trailer we have been waiting for, excited for, and just plain geeked out about.

The second season of ‘The Walking Dead’ rises this October and for me that’s just too long to wait.   At the San Diego Comic Con, ‘The Walking Dead’ panel unveiled a new trailer for Season 2 and if you don’t get excited about this than you might be a zombie. Clocking in at over 4 1/2 minutes long, this trailer for the show has everything I could hope for in the next season and now I’m a bit sad I have to wait so long.

With Atlanta a loss, the crew of survivors struggles to deal with the events that led up to their being together. Sometimes the zombies aren’t the worst thing to keep safe from.

Usually, we’d be gearing up for the show to get ready to start.  Thanks to the delays the show hasn’t even begun production yet meaning we may have to wait until the fall season or even worse, early next year.  It’s coming but it’s taking its time.

AMC and Lionsgate Studios, who produce the show, have stated that the show will most definitely return which is a great sign.  Now it’s just figuring out where the money goes I guess.  So Season 5 of “Mad Men” looks like a no-go for its summer slot but hopefully everyone will get their dollars and kick the show into gear. Good news for fans but bad news for the show which now much compete in a crowded lineup on the once barren AMC schedule.

“Mad Men” helped launched the channel’s series movement and a few years back it was really the only thing they had. Now add in “Breaking Bad,” “The Walking Dead” and the new show “The Killing” and “Mad Men” will have to jockey for position. It shouldn’t be a problem in the long run because, let’s face it, AMC would be silly not to promote the Heck out of Draper and the show which regularly racks up Emmy Nominations.

Fans accustomed to spending their summer Sundays with Don Draper may have to wait a while longer. It looks increasingly likely that the fifth season of “Mad Men,” the three-time Emmy Award-winning AMC series, will not have its debut until late 2011 or early 2012.

Production would normally start around this time for the next season of “Mad Men,” but AMC has not announced a new deal with the studio that makes the show, Lionsgate, nor has that studio announced a new deal with Matthew Weiner, the series’s acclaimed creator.[via]

“The Walking Dead,” one of Don’s competitors for a time slot, is due back for a full season starting this fall. The show blew up on AMC and made killer ratings which proved that we all have not had our fill of zombies yet. So with a full season coming up, the producers took the opportunity to bring in some talent.

Horror guru Stephen King is slated to script an episode of “The Walking Dead”.

The horror novelist told Entertainment Weekly that he has discussed a possible contribution with executive producer Frank Darabont.

“[Frank] has expressed enthusiastic interest for season 2 or possibly 3,” he explained.

Darabont has previously worked with King on four occasions, directing feature film adaptations of his works The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist and also helming a short film based on King’s story The Woman in the Room. [via]

It’s a match made in heaven….or should I say, in Hell.

Now I’m pretty sure that’s all you need to know right there.  A weekly series about zombies.  ‘Nuff said, you and I are there.

Grab some nachos and beer and sit back and enjoy the ride.

But for the skeptics out there (who I guess just don’t ‘get’ the zombie appeal) there is now a 4.5 minute look at AMC’s Walking Dead.

Oh yeah, it’s set in the south. If I don’t see some redneck zombies bouncing around in the show I’m gonna be mighty upset.

A car full of people dressed as zombies crashed on Interstate 84 near downtown Portland on Friday, causing initial confusion by people who witnessed the crash.

Portland Police said the car was swerving in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just east of the Lloyd District just after 9:30 p.m. when it rolled over and crashed onto its top.

Emergency crews took five victims from the crash to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Which is good because you wouldn’t really take a zombie to the hospital, would you? They’s all ready dead!

“What’s that? You have a crappy low/no budget horror movie you want us to watch? Uh… No thanks. Oh, it’s a zombie movie? Well, I’ll get some popcorn going.”

This very mentality is why we were particularly happy to learn that AMC had obtained the rights to adapt the undead-packed comic book, The Walking Dead, into a television series, with Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) helming the project. AMC has ordered the first six episodes of the first season, with plans to debut in October, 2010.

We’ll give you a moment to let that sink in.

A zombie television series for Halloween! Come October, fans of the biologically challenged may actually have access to weekly doses of brain nibbling. It’s all too much to believe.

Of course, the comic book is not all just rampant zombie attacks and blood orgies. The Walking Dead‘s story follows a small-town police officer and a band of survivors trying to make their way in a world overrun with zombies. A major point of the comic is the evolution of the characters and their personalities in the face of a zombie apocalypse.

The zombies are the slow moving, lurching variety, susceptible to violent brain trauma. Outside of the zombies, there are some particularly nasty villains (The Governor), who prove that no matter how bad a monster is, humans have the capacity to be worse. A theme found in many zombie movies such as 28 Days Later and any of the Romero films.

We feel relatively confident in AMC bringing a decent adaptation of the comic book to television. With their current line-up of original programing producing the critically beloved Mad Men and Breaking Bad, which is almost as addictive as the drug it portrays, we find it a little hard to bet against them right now.

The Zombie Reagan is expected to do well in D.C. since no one represents the party better than a 100-year old dead man.

That’s why we take it seriously. We hold weekly Zombie Defense Drills in our cabin in the woods to help us prepare for World War Z. You can never be too safe.

A San Antonio woman is being held on $1 million bail in the killing of her 3½-week-old son yesterday. Police say he was dismembered, his face torn away and his brains ripped out. She had apparently eaten the brains, three toes and other body parts before stabbing herself.

Otty Sanchez, the zombie, told officers the devil made her do it.

Police Chief William McManus told reporters today that “you could have heard a pin drop” when officers arrived at the one-story home. “It’s too heinous for me to describe it any further.”

You don’t hear too much about Norwegian flicks these days but we bet you’ll hear about this one. A horror-comedy is coming out that is just pure awesomeness bottled up. “Dead Snow” features Nazi zombies who come back to reclaim their gold after a bunch of horny teens find the stash in a cabin.

   Zombies that are dead Nazi Soldiers great concept. The don’t really follow the regular zombie outline they are pretty smart and are interested in gold. That’s pretty cool lots of blood and gore a pretty good movie to see but i hope.
