As Jay Leno gets ready to take the seat on NBC’s Tonight Show (again) he was instructed by Queen Oprah to do an interview.

In preparation of the interview between the 2 television moguls, Oprah held a poll of her audience about their opinions on the Jay Leno/Conan O’Brien fiasco.

We asked viewers to weigh in on the Jay versus Conan controversy. About 80,000 of you responded to our Oprah.com poll. When asked whose side are you on, Jay’s or Conan’s, a staggering 96% of you said Conan. And 94% of you believe Jay should not go back to “The Tonight Show.” [via All Your TV]

Poking fun at Leno during this ordeal is ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel who immidtate Jay for an entire show as well as appearing on Jay’s 10PM turd-fest to answer some questions in a way on Jimmy can.

Jay pointed out to Oprah that he was sucker punched by Kimmel and was a strong trooper who would survive.  Of course, Jimmy is there to point out that Jay doesn’t know the correct meaning of ’sucker punch.’

Yikes, that’s scary!

Anyway, Howard talks to Conan about Jay giving up the Tonight Show and how it probably won’t happen.

We remember years ago when Jay Leno and David Letterman were in a bitter contest over who would take over as host of the Tonight Show when Johnny Carson left the program. The ugly and public fight left both sides angered and Dave eventually went over to CBS. Now Dave’s replacement, Conan O’Brien, is in a similar situation which could of been prevented if Jay Leno had just listened to himself.

In 2004 we have a clip of Jay stating he didn’t want Conan to have to go through what he did to get the show. Six years later Jay is still pissing off people as he is all but forcing his way back onto the Tonight Show.

Leno’s original speech discussing handing over the Tonight Show to Conan O’Brien, saying that he wanted to end the show “on top” and retire before he was in his 60s, as well as avoid the broken friendships and bad blood that happened when the show went from Johnny Carson to Jay Leno, which many people viewed as a sleight to David Letterman

David Letterman does a great impersonation of Jay “Big Jaw” Leno while discussing the NBC Tonight Show debacle.   While Conan O’Brien stands by his claim he will not do the Tonight Show if it is bumped into the next day after midnight, it seems like Jay Leno is set to ruin another late night show.

It wasn’t enough he muscled in the Tonight Show years ago while Johnny Carson and David Letterman were left wondering what happened.  Jay had to go and take back the time slot from Conan.

Conan O’Brien recently made a joke about Newark, New Jersey, that got the attention of the Mayor. After making a joke about improving the health of the city by issuing citizen bus tickets, Newark Mayor Cory Booker spouted out on YouTube that he wasn’t amused and would effectively put Conan’s name on the “No Fly List” for that city’s airport.

After this skit, Shatner went out into the woods and made love to a mountain. He’s a true man’s man!
