Maybe it’s the moonshine, but we’re feeling a little nostalgic.

We’d like to point out that the movie 2010 with Roy Scheider was full of crap.  We are no where near the ability to cruise around the moons of Jupiter much less have crazy-ass computers going on killing sprees or have the technology to give John Lithgow a full head of hair.

It’s all a crock!

Since we can’t go into space or fly around the city in our hovercar or personal jet pack, we are forced to stay here on Earth and take the best that society has to offer.  And by society we mean the Internet.  Pop culture had a big year in 2009 and here’s some of the highlights over the last 12 months.

This time Tiger is getting ready to approach the hole and with the help of his caddy lines up the perfect shot. The list of greens Tiger has putted on, other than his wife, has grown to an alleged 15 mistresses. Our favorite is the homely Perkins waitress claiming to have an affair with Tiger.

Perkins? Really? At least have some standards….

On Tiger’s Facebook in mid-October we see this great quote followed by the usual banter of fans. After Tiger’s car wreck we see a much different type of response [screen cap below]

I’m asked why people don’t often see me and Elin in gossip magazines or tabloids. I think we’ve avoided a lot of media attention because we’re kind of boring …

It’s tough being a celebrity but you know you reach the big time when a Taiwanese Television station reenacts what they think happened with cheesy CG graphics.  It’s absolutely beautiful and really tells the story.

Stories popped up this weekend of Tiger being involved is a traffic accident outside his house when his SUV hit a fire hydrant and crashed into a neighbors tree.

Tiger’s trophy wife, Elin Nordegren, allegedly knocked out a window to get Tiger out of the SUV and pulled him to the lawn. Tiger was bruised and cut and later released. [view news report video]

Now the fun begins.

TMZ, and a few other news outlets, are reporting that Elin Nordegren actually went ape-shit on Tiger and caused the accident after attacking Tiger when she believed Tiger was cheating on her.

We’re told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We’re told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV — but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We’re told Woods became “distracted,” thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree. [source TMZ]

We love a good scandal.  And to go all Jack Nicholson on Tiger’s ass is just classic.

But who’s the other woman?  We hear it’s a partygirl by the name of Rachel Uchitel, pictured below.

She’s the one on the left.  [rimshot....ty].

Rachel Uchitel has been identified as the woman that Tiger Woods is allegedly having an affair with.

Uchitel is a 34-year-old New Yorker who has a reputation of dating married celebrities, having previously been at the center of an affair scandal involving actor David Boreanaz. [via]

Poor Tiger.  He’s gonna have to use some of that endorsement money to get a nice lawyer or go Kobe on his wife and start sucking up with expensive clothing and jewelry.
