THOR Comic Con Trailer

ThorThe trailer for the movie Thor that was shown at Comic Con 2010 has surfaced on the Internet and it looks surprisingly good. When I heard that the next big comic book movie was based on the hammer-wielding Thor I must admit I was less than thrilled about this character getting a big budget flick.

However, they put together a good cast and crew so it looks to avoid being Daredevil bad. And that’s a good thing. Man, Daredevil just sucked so bad.

Thor is Directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo and Stellan Skarsgard. THOR will be in theaters in May 2011.

Check out the trailer below. It’s a long, long trailer and probably showcases too much of the story for you die-hard fans that don’t want to be spoiled next May.

Joss Whedon Joins The Avengers

Joss Whedon Directs Avengers
We think our geek-o-meter just redlined.

Joss Whedon, best known as the creator of popular television shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse, is in final talks to direct the super-hero juggernaut The Avengers. If negotiations pan out, Whedon will be helming a cast of superhero heavyweights that include Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

Although Whedon’s only feature film experience is the big screen adaptation of his Firefly series, Serenity, his knowledge of the sci-fi/fantasy genres, experience in the comic industry, history in television, and all around geek cred should more than compensate.
