Sports fans are in mourning after the end of the Super Bowl. Football is gone. Life is sad. Whatever will we do with our free time on the weekends?

The best thing is to live in the bask of the Super Bowl for awhile. The big game is gone but the ripples are still in the water. The game was the most watched sporting event in the U.S. ever and the ads will be reviewed by critics and fans for months to come.

Out boys at The Campus Socialite, some of the nicer dudes out there, have taken the trouble to review all the Super Bowl ads and give you their two cents worth. That two cents will come in handy on nickle hot wing night at the bar so don’t take it lightly.

So did they like the set of Super Bowl ads or not? What about that Darth Vader VW ad? That was pretty cool, right. And how many people do you know didn’t get that Groupon was being a little too clever for their own good?

Thor Super Bowl Spot

Two worlds. One hero. Super Bowl TV spot for Thor. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins star in the comic book movie adaption which opens May 6th in 3-D.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Super Bowl Ad

Earth goes dark for the Super Bowl trailer for Transformers 3 ark of the Moon. This techno Inception-inspired spot shows us the extended invasion of Earth with some killer FX and lots of explosions. Just like we expected from director Michael Bay.

TF:3 will be in 3-D sans Megan Fox. Star Shia LaDouche is promoting the movie in usual form with his most recent arrest at a bar.

Super Bowl Commercials – Movie Edition

Movie trailers are a hot item during the Super Bowl commercials. Big movies that will look to dominate the spring and summer look to get a foothold here. A few movie trailers scheduled to air during the game have already been released and a few leaked.

Sadly, no Captain America yet or Super 8 so we’ll just show what we got at the moment and try to update as it comes in.

Super 8 Super Bowl Commercial

Sadly of all the movies scheduled for a Super Bowl spot I don’t expect this mysterious J.J. Abrams movie to be leaked early. The creator of Cloverfield loves his mystery and can keep a tight lid on his projects like no one else.

Steven Spielburg and Abrams team up for a 70′s-ish sci-fi kinda horror flick that looks like a mashup of Close Encouters of the Third Kind with Cloverfield.

Transformers 3 : Dark Side of the Moon

Expect a lot of air time for TF3 as the movie will see some ads as well as tie-ins with Chevy. This new trailer is a full 2 minute long mini-story setting up what looks to be another epic Transformer film. Directed once again by action director Michael Bay, Transformers 3 is set to hit theaters July 1, 2011.

Kung Fu Panda Super Bowl Commercial

Jack Black and the rest of the animated Kung Fu group is back in “Kung Fu Panda 2.” I can’t imagine much here than it looks. If you liked the first one, you’ll probably dig the second one just a bit less.

Cowboys Vs. Aliens Super Bowl Commercial

Personally, I’m really wanting to see more of this movie. Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford show up in a Sci Fi Western flick called Cowboys vs Aliens. Awesome. It’s just what the title suggests it is and I for one am excited about it.

Battle : Los Angeles Super Bowl Commercial

The trailers for B:LA have been out for awhile now as the movie sets to open March 11th in theaters. Above is the teaser trailer and below is the longer version with the action and characters of the movie more flushed out.

I’m not sure if they will just show one of these trailers during the Super Bowl or will mock up another version. Either way be prepared for another alien invasion.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Jack is back and he’s looking for the Fountain of Youth. The blockbuster franchise it back for a surprising 4th time (really? after the 3rd one?) so let’s hope they brought back the fun and excitement of the first movie.

Depp is of course back as so is Geoffrey Rush. Added is the perky Penelope Cruz and missing are Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. But Keith Richards is back so that’s something.

Priest Super Bowl Commercial

Like B:LA, Priest has had a few trailers out over the last few months. Here’s a look at the latest trailer released about a priest who disobeys church law to track down the vampires who kidnapped his niece. You know, that story again….

Just Go With It Super Bowl Commercial

Adam Sandler is back and this time he brings a lot of cleavage with him. Jennifer Aniston and Brooklyn Decker bounce around the screen while Sandler acts like Sandler.

Thor Super Bowl Commercial

Marvel’s Thor hits the big screen whether you want it to or not. Not being the biggest Thor fan I can say that this trailer makes the movie look a lot better than I expected it to be. I don’t know if that’s saying much, though….

Here Are The Commercials You’re Going To See During Sunday’s Super Bowl

Keeping a Super Bowl commercial secret nowadays is a tough task. With a budget and asking price of $3 million for 30 seconds I can see why. That’s why I’m always floored when some company rolls out a Super Bowl ad with some old ad we’ve seen a million times before. If you’re gonna pony up the money at least make something new.

With the exception of movie trailers (which will be another post Saturday and yes that’s Kung Fu Panda above to give you a clue) here are some of the non-movie commercials that are expected to showcase during the Super Bowl in which the Green Bay Packers thump those cheating Steelers big time.

Pepsi MAX® – Love Hurts

Expect a bunch of Pepsi ads during the Super Bowl since they are one of the NFL’s official sponsors. This one goes with the humor which is good even though it promotes a hate crime. They almost killed that white girl!

Volkswagen — The Force

A little long in the tooth but fun in the end, VW markets a mini Darth ~~Helmet~~ , uh, I mean Vader to sell their new cars. The spot features a pint-sized Darth Vader who uses the Force when he discovers the all-new 2012 Passat in the driveway.

2011 Super Bowl New GoDaddy .CO Girl Tease

A GoDaddy T&A commercial. What a surprise? Anyway, who wants to bet that the new T&A girl is that chick from “My Name Is Earl?”

2011 GM Chevy Super Bowl Commercial “Bumblebee”

Don’t mess with Bumblebee. He will mess you up! I guess Shia LaDouche couldn’t afford to take Bumblebee with him in the newest “Transformers 3″ movie because the poor guy is being sold at Al’s Chevy.

DORITOS® – Best Part — Crash the Super Bowl 2011 Finalist

Not the best, not the worst. Funny , but forgettable, commercial featuring the urge to snack on Doritos. I wish they would slap “legalize it now” stickers on the front of Dorititos to see how much sales would go up.

Careerbuilder 2011 Super Bowl Ad “Parking Lot”

Seriously. If you want me to like a commercial put monkeys in it. I’m there. Careerbuilder is back with the chimps and the chimps can’t drive.

Best Super Bowl Commercial Ever! Cat Wrangling

If the Super Bowl proves one thing it’s that you don’t have to have a viable company to have a successful Super Bowl Commercial. Just pony up the cash and you’re good.

One such company was called EDS. No one at the time knew what that company did and know still does to this day. It doesn’t matter because the unknown company that had no reason to make a Super Bowl ad make one of the best ever.

A few years back the epic “Cat Wrangling” commercial appeared. And it was awesome. Cats are wrangled like cattle across the plains,…. just like they should be.

Still My Favorite Super Bowl Commercial…That Never Aired on TV

The Super Bowl is just around the corner which means there will be a new batch of awesome (and bad) commercials to review. While the Super Bowl Commercials have always been a favorite with us, not all the best ones make it to air.

This one for Career Builder hits close to home for both of us from our previous experience in the cubicles. Funny and true, this gem didn’t make it to air. Shame, too. It’s one of my favorites.

Classy Google Super Bowl Commercial

For years, Google was enjoying the silence when it came to mainstream advertising on television. Google claimed for years that their products, not advertising, is what made them better than the competition.

Times have changed. If the New Orleans Saints (once the model of failure in the NFL) can reach and win the Super Bowl than why can’t Google run an ad on TV. Stranger things have happened….

If you’re only going to do it once, might as well be during the one time of year you have the most eyes on the Television set. The Google Super Bowl ad is called “Parisian Love” and was actually made and released online back in November as part of Google’s ‘Search Stories’ series of videos.

While most commercials are trying to tell a joke, Google is trying to tell a story.

Kia Super Bowl Commercial : Sock Monkey + Jet Ski = Awesome

Kia’s odd Super Bowl Commercial featured a crazy cast of odd creatures having fun around town. What stood out for us is the great Sock Monkey who grabs a jet ski and takes on the mechanical bull at a bar. Sock Monkey FTW!

Letterman-Oprah-Leno Super Bowl Ad FTW

One of the best [and most unexpected] moments of the Super Bowl Commercials was the short ad for David Letterman’s show featuring Dave, Oprah, and Jay Leno.

Yup. Jay “Big Jaw” Leno.

The trio of media Kingpins had us hitting the rewind on the DVR as Letterman broke out his Leno impersonation with Oprah sitting between them. It was classic not only because it was funny but also because it was straight out of nowhere.

Bud Light Hit and Miss Super Bowl Commercials

Bud Light provide 4 funny Super Bowl Commercials this year and 2 of them had LOST twists. The first one about scientists and an Asteroid features Dr. Marvin Candle from the Dharma Initiative. The other one is more of a direct reference with a group of people stranded on an island with only their Bud Light to keep them alive.

Overall, the batch of ads were enjoyable. Nothing fantastic but enough to get a laugh out of them.

Dennys Chicken Super Bowl Ads

Denny’s aired a trio of quirky Super Bowl Commercials aimed at promoting a free Grand Slam breakfast this Tuesday from 6am to 2pm and a free Grand Slam breakfast on your birthday. The monotone dude announcing the deal we could do without. The chorus of screaming chickens realizing they must make a ton of eggs is awesome!

The other 2 commercials feature chickens freaking out and that made our day. We don’t have a Denny’s close to us so the deal doesn’t matter to us. We just love the chickens.

Griswolds new Super Bowl Hotel Hell Vacation mini-movie

During the Super Bowl commercials you’ll be seeing a new promotion featuring the Griswold’s from the great Vacation movies.

Before you get a little too excited about a new Vacation movie- [there is one, just not what you think] you should know that Clark and Ellen Griswold are back and on the road.

This time they are visiting their son but the movie is actually a promotion for Home Away, a property rental agency for your vacations. Think of it as one of those Time-share deals and instead of having to sit through a boring 30-minute lecture you get to watch the Griswold’s.

OK. That actually works. Good idea.

We love the Griswold’s.

So the movie is a mini-movie featuring the characters from Vacation. It runs 15 minutes [see below] and features Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo and a replica of the original Family Truckster. Ride along as The Griswold’s hit the road again. This time they’re on their way to see Rusty at his vacation rental. They stop at a hotel and typical Griswold madness ensues.
