Star Wars creator George Lucas knows how to market his product. No other filmmaker has beat to the pulp merchandise opportunities than Lucas but despite the overwhelming offerings of Star Wars products this new one looks pretty cool.

A French-based fast food chain called “Quick” is promoting the The Phantom Menace in 3D in movie theaters with the new black Darth Vader burger, or Sith burger. Yes, the bun is black. It’s not burnt or rancid but made that way on purpose.

I just wish Heinz still made that purple ketchup. It would go so good on that black burger.

I don’t know much about “Quick” but I believe they are the group in France that offered the foie gras ‘burgers’.  I think I’d choose the black Darth burger myself.

[via The Daily Mail] A French fast food chain has revealed a promotional snack which really has gone to the Dark Side, a Star Wars-inspired burger with completely black buns.

The burger chain Quick cooked up the black-looking bun – named Dark Vador – to tie in with the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 3D.

Although the buns look like decidedly burned, they are in fact simply dyed, and have two beef patties with cheese, lettuce and tomato inbetween.

And thanks to the genius decision by George Lucas to cast the studly Billy Dee as Lando in the Empire Strikes Back, we got the crossover of sci-fi and pimping.  That buzz lasted for about 15 years until Jar Jar Binks, who just killed all the fun.

But somewhere along the line someone, who goes unnamed but I will refer to now as a super genius, created this hand painted Billy Dee Williams as Lando custom 40 ounce liquor bottle.

But it would’ve been cool.

The Ewoks are better now in hindsight thanks to the creation of Jar Jar Binks. The Star Wars movies meet the comic books in this alternative world.  If the Incredible Hulk comes face to face with an Ewok and it would look like this.

One fan of Star Wars made a sweet movie mash-up with Back to the Future 2 that would be a sweet alternative ending that should have shown in theaters.

Now if we can just get Doc Brown and Marty knock off Jar Jar while they are there it would be worth it.

But I think Kenny should go ahead and mix up the first two movies, The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, because they are almost unwatchable as they stand.

Ugghhh.  Hayden was the worst.

Anyways, here’s ten minutes of HBO’s Kenny Powers, the greatest pitcher of all time, doing his thing with the Star Wars movie.

This marks the first time the movies have been created for the high-def format but, as many fans know, not the first time he’s tinkered with them and released them as a box set.

Hopefully we won’t have another “Greedo Shoots First” situation but Lucas is playing again but he’s also releasing a bunch of deleted scenes which are cool. Star Wars: The Complete Saga hits Blu-ray shelves everywhere on September 16.

In case you didn’t know, the Star Wars movies are getting the Blu Ray treatment next month with the tease of lots of extra footage and behind-the-scenes stuff to keep the geeks happy.

One lost treasure for any guy who grew up with the original movies are the awesome pics of Princess Leia in her Slave Girl metal bikini from ‘Return of the Jedi’. Is this her or her body double? Who cares!

I couldn’t help but think about the Dos XX “World’s Most Interesting Man in the World” ads while watching “Star Wars” the other day.  Han has all the qualities (minus the awesome beard) to imagine an ad campaign in a galaxy far, far away choosing Han Solo if needed their own “Most Interesting Guy.”
