A man was shot outside of a Virginia Beach club early this morning, and the shooting occurred at the birthday party of animal lover Michael Vick.

Now we all know what a role model Vick is but here’s the fun part. Turns out the person who got shot was one of Vick’s co-defendants in the dogfighting case and they just happen to have an altercation moments before the shooting.

Of course, witnesses are scared to talk and Vick’s lawyer says Vick was gone by the time of the shooting so it should be fun for the cops to piece this one together.

Paraguay! Paraguay! Paraguay! Paraguay!

Monumental. That’s the best way to describe the late goal by America’s Landon Donovan during the World Cup match vs Algeria today. Due to the late time zone shift of South Africa (+6 hrs if you’re wondering), the game was going on here in the states at 10 am EST. That means most people were at work or, like our Uncle Randy, just getting released from the drunk tank at KPD.

The U.S. Men’s National Team , or USMNT to the soccer folk (not to be confused with TMNT), have had their fits with the officiating during this years World Cup. After a critical goal was disallowed in their previous match that would have put the USMNT in the lead you would think that a similar situation would not occur today. Right?

Well, guess what? It did.

The officials called off the first U.S. goal 21 minutes into the match when Clint Dempsey was offsides. Or was he? You decide:

It doesn’t look like Dempsey was offsides to me! Overall, the officials missed several calls including an elbow to Dempsey in the 2nd half as well as calling a yellow card on DaMarcus Beasley for using his hands when he clearly did not.

If the USMNT did not come out of the match with a victory their time in South Africa would be over. That is because in their group, England and Slovenia would advance with a U.S. loss or tie. And it looked like it would happen just like that as the match wound down and entered ‘extra time.’

With only a few ‘extra’ minutes left, the remarkable happened. The USMNT kept pushing on despite several missed opportunities and bad calls to create this little miracle which allowed the U.S. to advance. Goal! Goal! USA!

One of our buddies helps out with the football blog The Pigskin Doctors so that means he gets to sit around in his underwear during the fall and write it off as “work” by watching football all weekend.

Even though it’s the offseason, he was able to find this great clip from the Arena Football Leauge.  Yeah, it’s still around. One of the only things better than a huge lineman returning a fumble for a long TD is seeing a kicker lay down a huge hit.  Both are rare and fun to watch.

Check out this clip of Chris Gould of the Chicago Rush as he just lays the smack down on some poor dude. And then he dances!  Awesome.

It can’t be that hard to be an NFL Quarterback.  I rock the local Flag Football league so me and Peyton are like brothers in arms.  It’s not that hard…..when you’re skilled like us.

But, sadly I don’t have the money or the trophy wife and that makes me sad. I punched a hobo in throat on the bus today when I thought about it.  It kinda cheered me up and then I got kicked off the bus and that made me sad again.  It was like a roller coaster of emotion this morning.

See that hot lady above?  That’s Jeff Garcia’s wife and he looks like what would result from Danny Bonaduce and Louis CK mating in a dry river bed.   He’s was a good QB so I can’t knock him too bad.  But when I saw that this was what he came home to every night I about spat out my Slim Jim.
