Finally. The Netflix Apology

Currently, Netflix and HP are in a race to see who can tank their company the fastest. It’s kinda mind boggling to me but they’re just flopping around out there as if a bunch of hobos are running the companies.

Netflix has botched their once successful business plan that had a loyal following with an epic lack of communication and confusing business plan. Price hikes and an unnecessary split of the company into two entities, Netflix and Whogivesadamnster, have divided and angered customers.

The heads of Netflix were on television and sat down on NBC’s Saturday Night Live to issue an official apology to the users. It clears some things up…kinda.

Satellite’s Fall Is All Too Familiar, John Belushi Reports

The odds of being hit by a falling satellite is pretty extreme. You have a better chance winning the lotto or being eaten by a shark or getting me to watch Kevin James’ movie “The Zookeeper.”

NASA has warned us mortals that a satellite is falling from the heavens. I wasn’t so much worried that a huge chunk of molten shrapnel would spear into the ground as much as which satellite it was.

Thankfully, it’s not a DirecTV satellite so I can still watch my NFL Sunday Ticket and various movies.

But stuff falls from the sky all the time. Didn’t you see that movie “Armageddon?”

You don’t think Sasquatch just popped up one day out of nowhere, do you? Of course not. He’s an alien and he came from a ship that got lost on his way to an intergalactic kegger.

So with news from NASA that a satellite is going to fall to the earth today the world starts to panic.

Will it hit me? Will it wipe out my house?

The answer, of course, is ‘Yes, it will.‘

Send me a check for all your savings and I’ll take care of everything. Don’t forget your social #. I’ll need that, too.

The reason you should be freaked out is that this happens from time to time. The odds are slim but you’re probably going to be next. You can bet on that. It’s happened before and it’ll happen again.

Zach Galifianakis Drops By The Set and Shaves his Beard

Zach Galifianakis hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend which probably marks the first time in a generation that they have had a comedian host the show.

One of the best parts of the evening, however, was when Zach ran backstage while Vampire Weekend performed and shaved off his iconic hobo beard. Yes, he actually did shave the little guy off. Here’s a video of the incident.

Thankfully, after the skit with Zach sans beard he was able to get a replacement.

The promos for this week’s episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live are funnier than everything they have done over the last 3 years. Which isn’t saying much but since we’re huge fans of Zach Galifianakis (and his Amy Adams impersonation) we will actually have to watch this one.

This might be our new favorite video. The hosts of some talk show down there in Austrailia are whipping out their Wii‘s and shaking them about in a rather awesome fashion while shouting “Here it comes.”

Fantastic.

Reminds us of the Saturday Night Live skit with Alec Baldwin but since this is live TV it is on another level of awesomeness!

Bill Murray Sings the Star Wars Song on SNL

Bill Murray is Nick Winters, the delicious lounge act that wraps up the night with the lyrical version of the Star Wars theme song. This classic clip from Saturday Night Live is hard to find but it was well worth the effort to see a young Bill swoon the audience with his adaptation of the famous theme song.

Also, notice a younger [and not-quite-as-bald] Paul Shaffer on the piano.

Because we know how much you love cats [and that cats own the internet] we expect this video of a Cat Swimming School to be slightly offensive to you.

That’s because this clip is from the Royal Feline Swimming Academy teaching cats to swim. We get this sketch from the 1979 special Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video.

Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video was a spoof of the controversial 1962 documentary Mondo Cane, showing people doing weird stunts. Kinda like Jackass does today. It stared the first head writer of Saturday Night Live, Michael O’Donoghue, who also was in the first sketch of the show [see below]

If you’re looking to send Mr. Mondo a dirty letter because he’s tossing cats into a pool, you don’t have to worry. Mike died in 1994
