Wow. Just Wow! Color me impressed. The Simpsons’ have upped their credibility by having Banksy direct their opening credits.

If you are not familiar with the great artist who goes by the name of Banksy I welcome you to check out the biographical movie Exit Through the Gift Shop which follows around the street artist. He’s a great talent with an eye for social commentary and that is evident in the below video of the opening credits.

Banksy is the pseudonym of a British graffiti artist, political activist and painter. His satirical street art and stenciling graffiti has appeared throughout the world and now has (un)officially popped up on the pop culture show The Simpsons.

Kind of unexpected but truly awesome.

During the intro of the show last night the usual goofy scenario has been replaced with a Banksy world. His name is spray-painted over several of the landmarks, and instead of the Simpsons watching TV on their couch we are treated to a grim portrait of Chinese (?) laborers making Simpsons merchandise, such as dolls and DVDs. I thought the show was worked on in Korea but the Pandas threw me off so I’m going with Chinese.

The best part, or worst depending on your point of view, is the factory has enslaved unicorns and pandas as animal laborers. Personally, I love the dolphin head. And I’m just sayin, unicorns are lazy workers anyway so they had it coming.

For a few hours this afternoon we were all treated to an oddly compelling story of a boy and his balloon. We remember as kids have been forced to watch some crappy French film about a boy following a big red balloon around the streets of Paris. This is kinda like that.

Well, maybe it’s more like that episode of “The Simpson’s” where Bart pretended to be down a well and the world united together in song and charity to help Bart out only to find him hiding nearby.

Balloon Boy, as he will forever be known, is a 6-year old boy from Colorado who was thought to be stowed away on his father’s experimental balloon filled with helium. The balloon soared to heights of 10,000 ft and went across 2 counties in a 2-hour flight as the world watched and wondered if the boy was still alive.

Simpson's Did It First!

It turns out the boy, named Falcon [seriously], was hiding in the attic.

Later it turns out that the father, a Martian-loving conspiracy theorist, was part of the 100th episode of ABC’s “Wife Swap.“ This whole ordeal is going to make a great movie one day!

And then there’s the music video. This video [supposedly] of the Henne boys is a lewd rap song that only makes the whole story sweeter.
