There are two things that must be brought up when issuing a review of the new Sam Rockwell sci-fi movie “Moon.”

First, there’s that Stanley Kubrick flick in ‘68 called “2001: A Space Odyssey” that comes up. Apparently, that is some kind of big movie or something.

Kidding. It’s one of our favorites.

Second, you must put a insert a David Bowie reference inside the review. Preferably, a “Ground Control to …” joke to tie in the fact that the movie is the directorial debut of Duncan Jones, the son of Bowie. Those pop culture references aside, what drew us to the movie is the promise of a strong performance by the highly underrated [and very talented] Sam Rockwell. After years of supporting roles such as the “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy,” “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” and “Green Mile,” it looks like Sam is ready for his lead role.

Ahhh….Bonnaroo weekend.  That time of year when everyone’s inner-hippie pops out and gets high to the music. This year’s festival has started with a lineup including Bruce Springsteen, Phish, and the Beastie Boys. A few other bands are supposed to show up, too.

A weekend treat for you all. The cult comedy “Three O’Clock High!” So grab a bag of Cheetos and sit back for a great 80’s flick that features the nerd vs. the bulley. Great entertainment and a nice way to not work for 2 hours.

One movie we are extremely excited about is the Sam Rockwell sci-fi flick “Moon” due out June 12th. This highly acclaimed movie directed by Duncan Jones [David Bowie's son] features a solitary man working on the moon who only has a computer [Kevin Spacey] to keep him company. That is until he finds another person who looks strikingly familiar.
