Linkin Park Covers Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” Because They Can

Linkin Park continues to give their fans unexpected music and during the London iTunes Festival they pull out a little Adele and go to town on her hit single “Rolling in the Deep.” Didn’t see that one coming.

You’re either going to love it or hate it, depending on your view of Chester’s vocals on the song. Don’t see many people settling in the middle.

At the iTunes Festival style, the band belted out this surprise cover of the epic ballad and joined the big list of artists brave enough to tackle Adele. The song comes from Adele’s newest album, “21,” which just also happens to be one of the biggest albums of the year.

“21″ has moved 2,517,000 copies in the U.S. since its release on Feb. 22 — through the week ending July 3, the mid-point of the tracking year. It’s the only album to have sold more than 2 million in 2011, and one of only two to surpass 1 million.

The Catalyst – Linkin Park New Music Video Is Out

The official music video for Linkin Park’s new single “The Catalyst” is out and on the web. Their new album “A Thousand Suns” comes out September 14.

“The Catalyst” has also been featured in the trailer of the video game Medal of Honor, which premiered on August 1, 2010 and was directed by Joe Hahn. It will also be included on the game’s soundtrack due out October 12, 2010. It was also used during the 16th annual X Games competition, and a commercial for the new Discovery Channel show “Surviving the Cut”. “The Catalyst” will be performed for the first time live at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, 2010. Linkin Parks Earns Their Medal of Honor

Linkin Park fans will be glad to know that their band is involved with the upcoming Medal of Honor video game and is releasing a new song called “The Catalyst” to help promote the game.

LP has been rather silently lately with the exception of a Transformers 2 single. Their last album, Minutes to Midnight, came out in May of ’07 to mixed reviews so they’re due for some new material. The single comes from the soon to be released album, A Thousand Suns, and the video is directed by LP bandmate Joe Hahn. The video features live-action and CG from the game featuring some killer graphics.

“Transformers 2″ hits theaters this week and early word about the movie paints the sequel as a confused and bloated flick with too many explosions and running about 30 minutes longer than it should. Basically, a typical Michael Bay film. Some have pointed out that “Transformers 2″ also has some very stereotypical (almost racist) robots that bring back memories of Jar Jar Binks. That should be interesting. As long as they don’t distract from Megan Fox’s T&N screen time we’ll be OK.

Also, most of the original cast and crew are back for the second installment including more music by Linkin Park. Their new video, “New Divide,” is out and Mr. Hahn has even directed the trippy video.
