Barney Stinson, the epic hero of CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, never fails to cheer me up. I’m just glad I’m not a lady and got talked into relations with him because some times it ends in a bad way.

Not for Barney, just bad for the woman sometimes.

Early in the seasons of CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, Marshall and Barney agree to a Slap Bet when debating the contents of Robin’s past as a teen music star. Basically, Marshall wins the right to slap Barney 5 times as hard as possible whenever the feeling … hits!

Over the years Marshall has been terrorizing Barney with the potential of slaps and after another bet, Marshall gets Barney to give up 3 more slaps. That brings the total up to 8, of which 6 are accounted for. Here they are in fantastic GIF format.

At this point in time it is hard to imagine daily life without the luxury of a smartphone. At the tip of your fingertips are the Internet, movies, music, television shows, your contact list, games and even flashlights.

Oh yeah, it also makes phone calls.

But on the CBS television show How I Met Your Mother, which you may have noticed on one of the 16 channels playing it on syndication this fall season, nailed this bit about life as the group before and after the smartphones.
