Fuzzy Horned Bikini

First of all, it was hot as Hell today at Bonnaroo.  A lot of people seemed to hang out in their tents during midday and the amount of freaky costumes and odd people out this afternoon was very low.  Thankfully, they started to come out once the sun went down.  The Fuzzy Horned bikini chick was an example of that.

The reality of the Roo is that if you really want to get close to a performance, you got to get there early and not mind being crammed into a hot, humid space with a bunch of people with questionable hygiene habits.

It was really, really hot here today and there was a lady who passed out in line at the Adult Swim T Shirts.  She was tended to and got up but refused to lose her place in line!  She’s a trooper.

And as expected, the music lineup was killer.  Lots of rock with the Kings of Leon, Tenacious D (doing their awesome thing), and the Flaming Lips teamed up with the Death Star and White Dwarfs to do a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon,” complete with the huge ‘Hamster Ball’ from the Lips’ 2007 performance.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops pulled out their fiddles and banjos and gave a great show that had the tent rocking.  We then wandered around before finding She & Him, the band of actress Zooey Deschanel.  Sorry, no pics of Zooey.  We were too far back.

Once the sun went down and the heat subsided, we were able to relax more and enjoy the shows.  Thankfully, there was plenty of water offered to chase down the beers.

Just a quick note that we’ve moved the blogroll from the home page to it’s own page at Dave and Thomas Blogroll.  We just wanted to mention it because it gives us a good chance to post this great pic of Eliza Dushku.

Now, let’s get back to watching the Olympics. When’s curling start…?

The end of the world is coming to East Tennessee, in a matter of speaking. A winter storm is coming and they are calling for 3-6 inches. Tragic, isn’t it?

We know Northerners are used to snow fall but down here we’re not. People flip the Hell out and for some reason the first thing they do is head to the grocery store and only buy 3 things: bread, milk, and eggs. It’s kinda freaky. You’d think maybe some bottled water or TP would be sold out but try buying bread before a snowstorm and you’ll be out of luck.

Will our economy bounce back? Will vampire movies still be run into the ground? Will Tiger Woods recover? These are just some of the things on our mind as we take a look back at some of the best and worst of 2009 and reflect.

Maybe it’s the moonshine, but we’re feeling a little nostalgic.

We’d like to point out that the movie 2010 with Roy Scheider was full of crap.  We are no where near the ability to cruise around the moons of Jupiter much less have crazy-ass computers going on killing sprees or have the technology to give John Lithgow a full head of hair.

It’s all a crock!

Since we can’t go into space or fly around the city in our hovercar or personal jet pack, we are forced to stay here on Earth and take the best that society has to offer.  And by society we mean the Internet.  Pop culture had a big year in 2009 and here’s some of the highlights over the last 12 months.

The good news is that the Tennessee Vols men’s and women’s basketball team won Tuesday night as Bruce Pearl tries to get closer to 100 wins.

The bad news is that another Tennessee Vols football player got arrested. Tennessee freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver was charged with shoplifting. Congratulations, idiot. You are going to lose a scholarship worth thousands for a shitty brown shirt worth $110.

Maybe they should teach some better math classes for these Freshmen so they can see how much $ they are pissing away. Maybe an ethics class at the least.

Anyway, enjoy the day off with Zach Galifianakis and his “Between Two Ferns.” This episode features Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter.
