If you were one of the lucky 8 million peeps to play the Battlefield 3 beta you probably had some fun. And you probably noticed some glitches.  But, that’s why it’s a beta.

DICE, the manufacturer of the game along with EA who distributes the video game, have already made a huge patch for the game to be available to players who purchase it on PC, XBox 360 or PS3 on the release day this Tuesday.

It clocks in at a whopping 222 MBs so it’s not just a quick fix.  Look to let your system download this and since it’s first day expect slow servers.   Just go make a sandwich and come back in a half hour.  It’ll be good by then.

New ads for Battlefield have been surfacing over the weekend as EA looks to roll out an estimated $100 ad campaign to promote the game.  They’ll need all the help they can get with Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 just a month away but make no mistake about it.

Even though BF3 will not come close to the sales of MW3, each will sell an outrageous amount of copies this holiday season.

I wonder what the Army has to say about the Call of Duty games. I’m sure they love the interest but I wonder how many people actually show up and think that war is about respawning and running around as fast as you can with double shotguns.

Fans of the game have been burning up their XBox and PS3′s with Call of Duty : Black Ops all year thanks to multiple DLCs making it one of the most popular video games ever.

If I had to imagine what those new recruits thought about the armed forces, I’d imagine it would look something like this.

Karl Magnus Troedsson, the general manager of DICE, was the lucky executive who took the stage to show off the latest edition in the franchise. Karl went over briefly about the online features, showed some gameplay and also pointed out an upcoming multiplatform open beta. Interesting.

A long demo of the game, played on a PC and not a console, showed a very detailed the tank battle which didn’t disappoint. The single-player demo showed the user as part of the squad of tanks approaching a line of bad, evil people who must be blown to bits with guns and tanks and bombs. “Battlefield 3″ is powered by the new Frostbite 2.0 game engine, which gives the animation a more realistic look and feel compared to the rather cartoony “Call of Duty” games. Frostbite also allows for a destructive environment with vehicle control, another thing the COD games lack.

The multiplayer demo was impressive as the game showed us the Paris Metro which involved soldiers fighting it out, and also destroying, the architecture of Paris.

Karl also pointed out Battlelog, “a service which adds a hub of powerful social tools, where gamers can connect, communicate, and play with friends.”

The key point here is ‘free’ as Call of Duty will be rolling out a similar feature that will require a paid subscription. Add in the much early release date of October 25th and “Battlefield 3″ is looking even sweet about now.

And on that note I would also just like to point out that “Homefront” sucked. It was one of the worst games ever. It has nothing to do with this post, just wanted to point that out.

With the proper perk you can easily spot the claymore and easily take it out, thus preventing you or your teammate from being sprayed on the walls.

Sounds easy. But for some people it’s a bit harder to accomplish.

This poor dude is having quite a hard time shooting out that claymore.  In the end, he hits the target but forgets the #1 rule of making sure he’s far away enough that it doesn’t get him.  Ooops.

MW3′s story goes globe trotting with battlefield including London, Paris, Berlin, and New York City and centers around a couple of Delta Force operatives up against a Russian-led invasion.
