OK. Just kidding.

What really happened is we got a look at Sawyer shedding off his domesticated persona from his time in Dharmaville and leaning more toward the Sawyer we know from the earlier years.

And, as the other episodes from this year have shown us, we get a look at the Flashsideways version of Sawyer living in the States as if the plane crash never happened.

This week, Jace Lacob of Televisionary and The Daily Beast (@televisionary) and IGN TV editor Matt Fowler (@Fowler_IGN) join Maggie to talk about ‘Recon,’ a fun adventure with our favorite con man Sawyer that was chock-full of familiar faces.

Turns out that all along the island is another version of the planet Pandora from the movie “Avatar.”

What’s important about this week is we finally see a more human side of the evil Benjamin Linus. 

Or do we?

Ben has easily become one of our favorite characters on television thanks to the creepy performance of Michael Emerson. That’s why this Ben-centric episode was so anticipated.

We wanted to know if he could be a decent human in the real world (we hoped he wouldn’t!) and whether or not the promos showing Ben digging his own grave would come true.

Most telling about the episode may lie in the little secrets held by Richard. We finally get to know a little about him and why he doesn’t age.

This week, Brill Bundy from Zap2it.com (@zap2itbrill) and celebrity DJ and ‘Lost’ super fan Mike B. (@theemikeb) join host Maggie Furlong to talk about ‘Dr. Linus,’ this season’s stellar Ben-centric episode. Michael Emerson was on top of his game, on and off the Island, but we were also treated to great moments from Richard, Ilana, Jack, Miles and a certain submarine.

OK, so you just watched this week’s episode and  you’re like, “What the H##l?”

Well, you’re probably like that every week but this one (and we say this a lot) was a great episode. Comedian Paul Scheer and Eric Goldman, editor of IGN TV , join Maggie this week to talk about the Sayid-centric episode. There’s lots of fighting, stabbings, and betrayal going on here.

As ‘Lost’ is finishing up its final season, we have to watch closely as clues and mysteries are being solved. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t more mysteries being brought up. This week’s ‘Lost’ was a great one as we learn a lot about Jack that we could never have guessed. Also, Jacob becomes a pivotal character in this episode as he starts messing with Hugo’s head.

No matter what he is, Locke is our favorite character and this Locke-centric episode helped flush out what type of person John could be. Plus, Ben gave one of the best eulogy ever.

Here’s a nice gem recently uncovered showing what the opening credits to LOST would look like if the show were around in the late 60′s. The stylish music and graphics are just fantastic.

For those of you that missed the season premier Tuesday night (or have yet to watch it on the DVR) we won’t drop any spoilers on you. Except to say it’s sad to see Hurley get killed off. We liked that dude.

To help you try to shuffle through the flashbacks (and flashforwards and flashsideways) AOL TV has a short video to help you through the mess. They will recap the first episode of Season Six of LOST in heavy detail that might clear things up. It might make it worse.

Lost Cast Season 5

We’re glad LOST is back! It was starting to get boring with all these shows with closure and linear scripting. (Warning: Spoilers Below)

Being a 2-part premier we got a full dose of LOST to get us excited once again.  Plus, as you all know, we got our weekly fix of Evangeline Lilly so all is good.

It seems so long since last season and we’re glad that LOST is showing strong signs of being back on track. Whatever track that may be. The new storyline of flash forwards and time travel is highlighted in the opening scene with Willie Nelson singing “Shotgun Willie” and a record skipping.  Great foreshadowing and kudos for a good song.

The characters of LOST (both on the island and off) are intertwined in destiny and the Oceanic 6 must return to the island for the survivors on the island to live.   It’s almost impossible to try to recap a show like LOST and Season 5 turns up the confusion dials to 11 so don’t expect it to let up anytime soon this season. Just go to ABC.com and catch up.  They have all the episodes there in a nice HD theater you can watch online and some of the more important ones are enhanced with clues and explanations.

The new storyline of time travel is very nicely embraced by LOST’s writers and we have a headache trying to sort it all out. Here are our 10 Favorite Moments for the Season 5 premier(Warning: Spoilers Below)

Sayid and Hurley

1.Sayid is still a bad-ass: Death by Dishwasher!

Best use of an appliance for a murder weapon and second best knife death in the season. In a fight with some bad dudes, Sayid throws one man over the railing of a second floor apartment and fights with the another until throwing that dude onto the dishwasher rack full of knives.

We just love a good knife fight!

Dr. Candle

2.The return of Dr. Candle.

Shooting a training video for the Dharma stations, Dr. Marvin Candle (real name Dr. Chang) is interrupted by a worker and Candle gets pissed.

Ana Lucia returns

3. The return of Ana Lucia!
One of, if not THE, most despised characters from the LOST world popped back up for a cameo.  When Hurley is on the run he gets pulled over and talks with a cop. But this cop is dead. Or is she?  Is it a hallucination of Hurley’s mental illness or the island playing tricks again?

Who knows….but the “Libby says Hi” quip was nice.

4. Cheech is back, watches bad TV
Hurley’s dad makes a caviar sandwich and is watching the ill-fated “Exposé”, a show that the producers tried to work into Season 3 with what many consider the lowest point of the series.

The episode “EXPOSE” forced the unpopular Nikki and Paulo characters onto us but it was a nice touch by the producers to work back in, like Ana Lucia, something they know was not very well accepted by LOST fans.

5. Hurley is full of  shih-tzu.
Looking for a change of clothes, Hugo grabs a yellow “I (Heart) My Shih-tzu” shirt.   Oddly enough, they had his size.

We would have accepted here also a mu-umu-u or a 80’s movie reference shirt.

One suggestion is “Back to the Future.” We didn’t see an OUTATIME reference anywhere in this episode…

Instant Karma

6. Karma’s a bitch
Locke gets shot in the leg (by Ethan!) and is attended to the never-aging Richard Alpert with his youthful looks and permanent eyeliner.

Locke said, “It was Ethan that shot me!” and Alpert states, “Well, what comes around, goes around.”

Nice.

Don’t Talk Back!

7.  Sawyer bitch-slaps Faraday
Trying to explain why he doesn’t have time to explain the time-travel mumbo-jumbo, Sawyer doesn’t punch the scientist. He bitch-slaps him.

Bonus: Sawyer telling Charlotte Lewis “Shut it, Ginger. Or you’ll get one, too”

8. Really. You think he’s dead?
Even with Locke in a coffin and even after Alpert tells him he must return to the real world to die, we somehow doubt that Locke is dead.  It’s great character development to make someone like Locke so untrustworthy.

We believe Locke is dead as much as we believe that Ben is telling the truth.  Hurley believes in Ben so little he gets arrested rather than go with Ben.

Daniel Faraday

9. Daniel Faraday
He might just turn out to be an interesting character after all. Not just a whiny scientist but we get a look at someone who might just have mastered the art of time travel and is willing to break the rules to save someone he loves, Charlotte.

And how often can we link to a fan site for String Theory and sound like we know what we’re talking about.

Now this is a knife!

10. Locke brings back the knife

The best knife killing in the show, Locke reappears at the end with his bad-ass hunting knife to kill a soldier followed by a nice shot of Locke pulling the bloody knife out of the dead guy’s chest to show us he hasn’t lost his touch.

   I love this show…I can’t seem to stop watching. I need to know what is going to happen next. I am envious of the writers I wish my mind worked that way.

      It’s more than a little addictive, isn’t it. Check out the writings of Brian K. Vaughan for so more interesting stuff. He’s the new influential writer with them (started near the end of Season 3) and his graphic novels are starting to be adapted into movies like Y: The Last Man.
