Synopsis:
For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few too many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently. There’s only one problem: even the best-laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.

I was an intern at a partial hospitalization mental health facility. I did not get paid. I was up front with the main supervisor that I had to get a specific amount of hours. I also had another assignment I had to do. I originally stated that I needed “blank” hours which would occur on “this date” if I worked 8 hours per day. Because of the evening program, I worked more than 8 hours some days, which meant I got the hours of work in sooner than the original projected date.
When my immediate supervisor told his boss that I was going to finish up a week earlier, the boss came to me right after and said I “HAD” to work until the date originally agreed upon. I pulled out my copy of the contract that showed that I would work until that date or until I completed the hours required for my degree, which ever came first. He was so hateful about it all. He never apologized. He had a history of doing that to the paid employees as well. He attempted to strong arm me to stay longer. I didn’t. He didn’t like that I didn’t cow down to him.
Karma: several years later he was arrested for having enough marijuana in his vehicle to count for selling, and for smoking it as well. He and a local Catholic priest. This boss was a substance abuse “expert.” I guess no one knew how much “experience” he had.
Wow….that’s Crazy! Thank goodness for Karma but still….
