Every day I check the mailbox for the news that my script for “Jenga: The Movie” has finally been picked up and still nothing.
Then comes words that Hollywood is adapting a movie based on the Hasbro board game Battleship. I’m a little saddened they went that route. My movie idea about a building made of Jenga bricks and being manipulated by robots was killer. And they went with this game instead?
Oh well…
The movie trailer is out for an adaption of the board game Battleship. Yeah, let me repeat that because it’s true and isn’t being produced by College Humor. They are making a ‘Battleship’ movie!
The movie trailer itself has little to do with the game. Almost nothing. It’s kinda like they are just using the name of the movie and game to help each other out with some P.R.
Nah, that’s too clever.
But what we get is a movie called ‘Battleship’ in which aliens are fighting a Navy fleet. Unless they have changed the rules of the game since I played it, and it has been awhile, I don’t remember any huge ass alien ships popping out.
Anyway, Brooklyn Decker bounces around in a bikini because that’s what serious actresses do and somewhere in there is Rihanna in her movie debut. While it’s still hard to take any movie serious that’s based on a board game, it does help that at least you would never know unless someone pointed it out.
