Gina Carano Shooter PosterReally, the only difference in the new Steven Soderbergh movie called ‘Haywire’ and all the other films with the same plot made over the last decade is that ‘Haywire’ features a crazy, hot (and crazy hot) chick as its star.

Not that it’s a bad thing. In fact, I’m all for it. The plot of the film is from a cookie cutter and if you ever wanted to see Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Shooter’ remade with a lady here’s your movie.

MMA star Gina Carano proves it’s OK to get your butt kicked by a girl in ‘Haywire,’ which opens up in theaters next January.  Carano is a government agent who wakes up one day to find out that her employers betray her.

Predictably, she goes on an ass-kicking spree to find out why and get revenge.  Once again, not that that’s a bad thing.  A good revenge movie is always fun.

And just for the record, we’re talking about Gina Carano here and not Carla Gugino.

Carla Gugino
I don’t know why but I always confuse the two when I hear their name. One’s a tough-as-nails MMA fighter and the other is an actress who once played Pauly Shore’s love squeeze in ‘Son In Law.” Yikes. It’s sad I remember that movie.

Either way, I would have to probably challenge them to a fight to prove my manhood to them just to get their phone number and it’s safe to say I would lose to them both.

Despite the desire to make Gina Carano a movie star, the film touts an All-Star cast that asks for us to take ‘Haywire’ seriously including Ewan MacGregor, Bill Paxton, , Antonio Banderas, and Michael Douglas.

Who knows, it just might be crazy enough to work….
