If you caught the new movie “Battlefield : Los Angeles” this weekend you might have noticed that there’s a new trailer for the super secret Steven Spielberg / J.J. Abrams sci-fi movie called “Super 8.” And despite what Thomas tries to tell me it’s not a movie about a cheap motel chain.
Super 8 actually refers to a type of old-school film camera that was popular in the 70′s. A lot of budding film makers cut their teeth on this form of film and Abrams and Spielburg pay a bit of homage to it with this movie about a group of kids who want to be making films but instead catch some freaky creature that escapes a military train during a derailment.
