In the end, the battle was lost by the humans against the machines before it began. This week on Jeopardy, IBM’s Watson computer system, allegedly built by SkyNet, easily defeated two former human “Jeopardy” champions.
Personally, I think the game was rigged. For one thing, the show opened with guest Morbo who greeted the contestants with his usual puny humans are doomed speech:
Watson won the tournament with a final three-day tally of $77,147. The puny human Contestant Ken Jennings came in second with $24,000 and Brad Rutter came in third with $21,600.
Watson took an early lead and maintained it throughout the last game Wednesday until the final clue. All three contestants correctly guessed the final clue: Who is Bram Stoker?
In the end it didn’t matter because the humans knew their fate. They had seen the movies. I mean, who hasn’t seen that movie, “The Matrix?”
Turns out that Jeopardy brainiac Ken Jennings admitted defeat to his robot overlords. During the final question he submitted the proper statement as seen below.
Now send in the robot army. The machines have won!
