Jim Carrey predicted the future of the cable industry in the 1996 stinker “The Cable Guy.” The reason it took us so long to figure out this clip was that nobody wanted to admit they watched this movie and thus it was lost in the dark recesses of the memory. Kinda like high school.
In the movie, Carrey is a creepy cable employee and in this scene he points out that computers, TVs and phones will all be linked up together soon. Also, you will be able to shop and game online. Not a bad guess considering this is the time when many critics thought the Internet was still a fad.
