Ricky Gervais wisely consulted with his lawyer while writing his monologue for the Golden Globes. For the second year Gervais was asked to host the event and as usual he held nothing back. It’s refreshing to see someone have a laugh at the expense of the Hollywood elite even if it means for some rather awkward and uncomfortable moments.
To put it into perspective, here’s one great bit he did last year at the expense of Mel Gibson:
So it’s no surprise that when Gervais was the host for this years event that he came out of the gate swinging. And in typical Gervais form he managed to do a full sweep of the crowd in this 5 minute clip. And if you haven’t seen the “Tourist” than you’ll just have to take our word for it that he’s right on the nose with those jokes. And nice touch for following through with another Mel Gibson joke.
