The upcoming “Yogi Bear” animated movie looks to be a big, fat turd that circles the toilet when you flush. However, this clever parody of “Yogi Bear” makes me want to like the movie. Mostly because I wish the people who made the new full-length movie had put this much effort and skill into the funny parody clip you’re about to see.
If you haven’t seen the fantastic Andrew Dominik’s drama “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” staring Brad Pitt than you’re missing out on a multitude of levels. Great movie. Very well made.
Then you have the “Yogi Bear” movie. I think the only thought that went into that is how to take money from kids. That and how to market as many crappy toys and tie-ins as possible.
Which brings us to the fantastic, and independently made, parody short dubbed “Booboo Kills Yogi.” It’s a great take on the Jesse James movie as Yogi learns the hard way that Booboo has sold Yogi out for a bag of cash.
