A few episodes back on NBC’s “The Office’ I happened to notice a joke that seemed familiar.
Erin the receptionist is taking pictures with a disposable camera and afterward tosses the camera away because, well, it’s disposable.
Apparently she is as dumb as Homer Simpson.
OK. It’s not the best joke they could have come up with and I thought it was rather lazy when I first saw it. The joke is not the most original to begin with but there was something familiar with the gag.
Then I was catching up on reruns of the 90′s sitcom “Newsradio” which just happen to be in syndication. I remembered that there was a similar scene done with Matthew and his disposable camera and I was finally able to track down the specific episode.
So who did the joke better? Ellie Kemper or Andy Dick? Bet there are some die-hard Office fans cringing at that comparison….

I hate to say it but… the answer to your last question is Andy Dick. (Can’t stand that guy in anything other than Newsradio.) Not a big fan of the Jon Lovitz days of the show but they’re certainly infinitely better than anything The Office is capable of now.
I feel the same way about Andy Dick. Guess I liked him on Newsradio because it was a time before he was just a freak. Well, less of a freak than he is now.
NewsRadio all the way. Light years ahead of the Office (the American version at least). Don’t dumb it down by explaining it…
As a die-hard NewsRadio fan I noticed the gag right away when I saw it on The Office. As much as I enjoyed the throwback, I didn’t expect it when Andy Dick did it and he’s my favorite office idiot.
It’s nice to meet another NR fan!
