First the good news. Universal Pictures is promoting the indie-ish sci-fi flick Skyline and the newest trailer is out. Yeah!
The bad news is that it’s being directed by the Strause Brothers who are a couple of video directors who unleashed the horrible Aliens vs Predator: Requiem. That movie sucked so hard I punched the ticket taker for not warning me in advance how bad it was. I usually don’t hit 17-year old girls but if you willingly send people into the theater to watch that crapfest you deserve the pain.
What I do dig about Skyline is that Greg and Colin Strause pretty much made a big movie out of their house. The funded most of the film themselves and literally shot it at home. In their condo. For a reported $10 million budget.
Considering the awesome FX seen in the trailer it looks like know how to spend their money wisely. As for the cast you can expect a bunch of unknowns and TV stars. Donald Faison (Turk from Scrubs) is the most recognizable person on the list.
