After seeing “Men in Black II” we really had no interest in seeing more movies about the franchise. That is until we learned that Jemaine Clement from “Flight of the Conchords” is slated to be the next bad guy in the upcoming sequel.
We don’t have any word on any clumsy musical numbers in the movie or if Bret will have a cameo, but we are interested in seeing Jermaine on the big screen. He joins original cast members Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones and also Josh Brolin. Barry Sonnenfeld returns to direct.
It appears that Columbia Pictures is pushing to make the movie fast and Clement, who will be seen co-starring with Steve Carell in Dinner For Schmucks, impressed enough people that he easily landed the role for the baddie Yaz in MIB3.
Even though Jermaine is best known for his singing with the ‘Conchords,’ he has been in full-length movies before, most notably the 2007 awkward and enjoyable comedy “Eagle vs. Shark” and last years “Gentlemen Broncos.”
