Just Shoot Me: David Spade DirecTV Ad
There’s really nothing we can think of that would make us become a David Spade fan. He’s gone this far and not convinced us he’s entertaining so why bother now.
Proving he is the douche bag we think he is, Spade has helped sell out his dead friend Chris Farley for a DirecTV ad featuring the two from the movie “Tommy Boy.”
The “Fat Guy – Little Coat” scene has been forever taken away from us by corporate greed and a payday. Chalk up one more reason to dislike Spade, like we needed it. There’s just something very wrong about this ad…
The biggest problem with the “Tommy Boy/DirecTV” ad is that it points out a bad trend with the satellite TV company.
This isn’t the first time the company has channeled a dead actor for a profit. There was also a “Poltergeist” commercial about a year back featuring actress Heather O’ Rourke who died in 1988 at the age of 12 that is just as tacky.
And then there’s the Jessica Simpson DirecTV ad. OK, she’s not really dead but her career sure is.
