The Saturday night NFL game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants was scheduled to be broadcast on the fledgling NFL Network. With a viewing audience of only 40% of the nations TVs the NFL Network was coming under fire for forcing cable companies to pay more for the channel. Cable companies balked at the deal and there was an ugly battle left between the NFL and cable companies like Comcast and Time Warner.
The final game of the season for the Patriots is sure to be a draw with football audiences everywhere as New England tries to finish the season undefeated. CBS and NBC have stepped up to simulcast the game around the country after angry fans demanded the NFL provide the broadcast to all markets. The feud is far from settled as lawmakers are now involved to help the situation. For now it looks like football fans are the winners for at least one week.
